The Museum of Struggles for Freedom was initiated by the exiles, partisans, political prisoners and their relatives of Lazdijai region and established in 1992. The Exposition is installed in the building, which housed KGB office of Lazdijai during the postwar period. This building was the place where Lithuanian people were being questioned; from here they were taken to prisons. Lists of Lithuanians and other citizens of the country to be deported to Siberia were also compiled here. Documents of that period, photographs of exiles, partisans and political prisoners, memoirs, used objects, audio and video material presented in this exhibition reflect the resistance movement, deportations and imprisonments.
